Lever Guns as Fighting Rifles

The answer is ... YES!

I have always been a big fan of a lever action fighting rifle. The main reason is that they were used as an offensive/defensive weapon for many decades; with great success. The pistol caliber carbines can hold over 10 rounds, in many models. The lever is a strong and accurate action, and can be carried in areas where an AR, AK, ect., may attract too much attention.

Sheriff Jim Wilson makes the argument as well:

Ryan Finn has a great review of what he dubs the Marlin 336 Cowboy Assault Rifle; over at The Truth About Guns.

If you're thinking about setting up a fighting lever this is a great read from Warrior Talk News.

Let's not forget our friend Larry Potterfield.

Full Disclosure:
I am a sucker for a sweet little lever carbine. I've owned .357, .30-.30, and my current favorite big bore lever round the .45-70 GOVT.
