AAC-249 Shot Off SAW due to Catastrophic Baffle Strike

Predator Intellegence is reporting that during the Silencer's Are Legal Shoot this weekend an AAC-249 experienced a catastrophic baffle strike resulting in the can becoming a projectile. I would like to see some detailed pics of this can...

'Firearm News' April 2012 :: Vuurwapen Blog

Mmmm, that's some good satire.
This is a format I've wanted to try for a while and Andrew at Vuurwapen Blog nails it!

Next step is to have correspondents (like hipster Andrew) and telephone interviews from people in the 'know'.

Roger's Super-Stoc

I thought I would post up some pictures I snapped of the Roger's Super-Stoc. This particular one is on a Colt 6920. Nothing about this stock gets me really excited but I'm sure it's a great stock. The Firearm Blog did a review of the Roger's Super-Stoc a while back; check it out.

S&W SHIELD: The Polymer S&W 3913? :: Photo Comparison

Some folks have dubbed the SHIELD 'the polymer 3913'. While I believe that the 3913 is one of the best single stack 9mm's to ever grace the planet; I think Smith has a winner with their new 'polymer version'.

Smith & Wesson M&P SHIELD Hits the Shelves!

The Smith & Wesson SHIELD is quite the little gun. I can attest to the improved trigger over the other pistols in the M&P line. There is even a tactile trigger reset! The safety lever is a little small for my liking, but I can understand they were trying to keep it thin. I am a little disappointed that there are no exchangeable 'palm-swells'; otherwise it's hard not to like the SHIELD.

The Ruger 10/22 Takedown is actually pretty damn cool. I have no need for one but I will have one. With a hearty side of BX-25's.

SIG MK25 Hits the Shelves!

The SIG MK25 is just a railed 226 but what makes it 'cool' is that with the addition of an anchor it becomes identical to the pistol used by the U.S. Navy Seals. Meh... I know some folks will think this is the "best thing ever" but it's really just a 226.

If I were you and you were me you'd be making this post and would also prefer the SIG 226 'TacOps'... it's pretty badass.

Atom Mounting System from Unity Tactical

Jerking the Trigger posted a look at Unity Tactical's Atom Mounting System. This allows for the mounting of a Red Dot Optic on the slide of a Glock. What makes Unity Tactical's system unique is that you are not stuck with any one single optic. With the use of interchangeable mounts you can switch between optics (if you'd like) or even mount standard iron sights back on the pistol at any time.

For more information I suggest you check out Jerking the Trigger's Post and Unity Tactical's Website (hopefully live soon).

Is there something wrong with Remington Shotguns and Rifles?

I've never personally ran into a problem with any. I've used a Remington 700 and 870 just shy of a lot. I've shot the 11-87 a bit less, but still have never experienced any issues or talked with anyone who has.

The recent reports claim all sorts of issues and the most insightful rebuttal I've read or watched is Richard Mann's take on the whole issue. I strongly suggest you read his post on his blog 'Empty Cases'. Here's his video:

Ruger 22/45 LITE

Ruger continues to bring new products to market. Although the 22/45 LITE isn't an all together 'new' product it does offer Ruger fans a 'custom-ish' production gun. The pistol stands out due to the Gold Anodizing and deep faux 'slide serrations'. The LITE comes standard with adjustable iron sights and a threaded barrel for attaching any manor of muzzle device you want.

Check out the SPECIFICATIONS.

Is this the M&P Shield?

**UPDATE**
Introducing the Smith & Wesson SHIELD

This photo has been ripping around the Internet since it splashed onto reddit. It seems to be pretty consistent with the 'Clues' that Smith & Wesson have been dropping. You can check out the clues here!

It appears to be a single-stack 9mm with the option of a compact or full-length magazine. A manual safety is located on the frame, but is of smaller profile than the standard M&P 1911-ish safety. The sights appear to be excellent along with the 'standard' sized magazine and slide release. It appears that the Shield has retained the interchangeable 'palm swells'. The existent of an accessory rail is not immediately apparent.

With the existence of the moniker '9 Shield' it would only be logical that a '40 Shield' won't be too far behind. Can you smell the '45 Shield'?

So is this it or a clever ruse?

Smith & Wesson's New Pistol :: The Clues

Monderno has been doing the thankless work of collecting and posting 'Clues' that Smith & Wesson has been posting on their Facebook Page and promptly taking them down. About a month ago Smith teased us with the 'Sheild Yourself' Video and promising the reveal of their new pistol 4/12/2012.

Keep checking back as we will update the clues as they become available.

Ruger SP101 4" Hits the Shelves!

Back in December Ruger announced the release of this .357Mag version of their newly introduced 4" .22LR SP101. The SP101 is a small frame revolver (similar in size to Smith & Wesson's J-Frame) that I thought would seem awkward with a 4" barrel; as they usually have a 2-ish" barrel. I like the whole package. I think this would make a great range gun for a female or male.

Savage Arms Scraps 300 BLACKOUT Chambering

Savage Model 10 Precision Rifle
Earlier today Savage Arms made the following announcement simultaneously on their Facebook Page and website:

It appears that Savage had plans to chamber one of their Model 10 Precision rifles in 300 BLK but pulled out of that idea once they realized that the 300 BLK had limited performance and fits into a 'narrow' band of usefulness.

No word yet on whether or not they will chamber the 300 BLK in an AR Platform gun.
