Kahr Introduces the CT-40 and CT-45 - NASGW 2013

The National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) is having their annual expo/meeting over the next few days and we're starting to see some of the latest products soon to be available on the market.

Those familiar with Kahr will realize that they offer standard priced pistols and 'budget' priced pistols that are similar to the more expensive versions. They have been lacking a 'budget' model in their full sized pistol line-up until now. Kahr has introduced the CT-40 and CT-45 to complement their TP counterparts at an MSRP of $449. A CT-9 will be released sometime next summer.

I owned a TP-45 several years ago and regret selling it; maybe I'll be able to replace it with a new CT!

So what's the difference between the CT and PT series?
  • Slide with less machiniong = less cost
  • Pinned front sight instead of dovetailed front sight
  • Scroll engraving instead of laser engraving
  • Metal Injection Molded (MIM) slide stop and extractor as opposed to machined from solid material
  • Button cut rifled barrel instead of Lothar/Walther Match-Grade Polygonal Rifled Barrel
  • One magazine instead of two and a cardboard box instead of a hard plastic one
Thanks to Gallery of Guns for the great coverage!
